“For me, Incredible Edible has been a god-send”
By Incredible Edible
The Power of Small Actions Podcast: Season 1, Episode 4
Andrew has chronic fatigue which can make it hard for him to participate in the practical gardening tasks other volunteers at Incredible Edible Prestwich and District (IEPAD) do. But, he certainly doesn’t let it stop him from being an invaluable asset to the group.
In this episode, (which is a ‘part two’ to accompany Episode 3 where we met Mark who is one of the founders of IEPAD) Andrew tells us why disabilities don’t have to stop you getting involved because there are all kinds of different skills and strengths that are valuable and welcomed at Incredible Edible groups.
Andrew also tells us how he was able to use his particular skills and energy to secure a ground-breaking policy from Bury Council; a Right to Grow for food and nature on public land. The policy he secured has already resulted in a huge spike in applications to start community food growing projects in the area, and has become a strong case study for how a Right to Grow can help adapt the places we call home to sustain us in an uncertain future.
Our podcast series, called The Power Of Small Actions, is being released over the summer of 2026 and each one will feature one of our Incredible Edible groups, with the story of what drives them and how they are changing the world one seed at a time.
