A simple, transparent way for Incredible Edible groups to manage their funds
By Incredible Edible
Are you looking for a simple, transparent way to manage money for your Incredible Edible growing project? Incredible Edible has formed a partnership with the Social Change Nest to help groups who want to just get on and grow food with their community, and would rather avoid all the admin of things like managing funds and becoming formally constituted.
The Social Change Nest is a fiscal host and legally registered CIC that holds money on behalf of unincorporated community groups.
With a mission to tear down the barriers that prevent communities from creating change, The Social Change Nest provides can provide Incredible Edible groups with a platform to manage your money transparently, allowing you to spend less time on admin and move faster on the things that matter to you most.
Being fiscally hosted will allow our groups to build trust with donors from their community and apply for grants and other funding opportunities that may otherwise be inaccessible. As a member of The Social Change Nest, our groups will also be able to access free exclusive Community Nest events, learn new skills and network with other groups.
“It makes it really easy for us to get on with doing the good work that we want to do rather than needlessly spending time dealing with banks and admin”
The Social Change Nest supports over 650 unincorporated community groups and has funnelled over £37 million to the frontlines of social change.
We’re partnering with The Social Change Nest as we believe they could be the perfect fit for many Incredible Edible groups. As a values led organisation with a mission to radically transform the funding landscape and strengthen civil society, The Social Change Nest take care of the finance and administration of your project, freeing you up to focus on what you really want to do.
If your neighbour wants to make a donation, they can visit your page online and make a contribution by debit/credit card payment, BACS or bank transfer. You can set up tiered donation suggestions (i.e if you donate £10 we can buy new seeds, £20 will replace old watering cans, £50 will allow us to plant a new herb garden), and recurring payment options, encouraging long term funding commitments. Your community will also be able to easily see what your funds are being spent on.
To get set up you’ll pay a one-time onboarding fee of £42, and an ongoing 5% transaction fee on any money you hold with the Social Change Nest, which is re-invested back into the work they do supporting grassroots projects.
