Massive welcome and thank you to all of our new followers! Here's some information on Heart of Pitsea, if you are wondering what we are all about! What is Heart of Pitsea? Heart of Pitsea is a 10-year local community project dedicated to everyone who lives, works or is educated within the defined Heart of Pitsea boundary. The project is run by a committee of volunteers, who are all residents within this area. Their local knowledge, combined with their enthusiasm, ambitions and skills come together to create a dynamic team that is passionate about Pitsea. And the best bit? It is down to them how Heart of Pitsea spends its funding. We are incredibly proud to have created the Legacy Park on Chalvedon Field in conjunction with Basildon Council. We also run weekly projects, which are all free to anyone who lives, works or is educated within the defined Heart of Pitsea boundaries. These including ‘Incredible Edible’ gardening group, an online youth Clubs for youngsters aged from 5-10 years of age and our online ‘Community Connect’, a social get together for adult community members. An amazing group of young people take part in our Youth Forum and they decide how to spend their own budget, which has funded activities for young people, including regular, free activity sessions for children at Pitsea Library (when it is open). Throughout the year we also host quiz nights, health awareness events, seasonal holiday fun days and our annual community Christmas event, all in and around Pitsea. We also fund outside organisations to deliver projects within the Pitsea community via our Proposal Scheme too. Find out more on our website www.heartofpitsea.co.uk
