
Morning all, Inspector Hogarth and Constable Sprout are really impressed with your support in helping Sprout to learn about the environment last week on sight and now they want to know if you can help Constable Sprout learn about sound and what you can hear around you. As you know, my new constable – Sprout has arrived at Horti-Culture HQ. I need him to learn about the outdoors for his induction, before he gets tucked into the cases. Sprout - Great work gang, I am really starting to understand the area. This week I want you to return to the park, woodland or green space you visited and this time observe what you hear. Plan a walk in your local area. This could be in your garden, neighbourhood, Park, woodlands or a green space. What do you think you will hear before going for this walk? What to take on your journey. ·Note pad to write and/or draw what you HEAR on your journey. · Pen/Pencil. · Mobile camera/phone/I-pad to record sounds. · Responsible adult. · Drink to keep hydrated. · Dress appropriately for the weather. · Good walking shoes/wellies. Week Two: The Senses: Sound. Sprout would like you to concentrate on SOUND Take notice of your surroundings. What do you hear? Trees rustling, traffic? Pick one particular sound.
